When it’s angry, it’s angry. When it’s not, it’s not. No politics, just songs about life and how our experiences have molded us. A record about friends, family, love, loss, success and failure. Any fan that has followed us over the years will not be super surprised as we have left a bread crumb trail over the last few years.”

“Cold Day Memory”, the new album from Atlanta, Georgia’sSEVENDUST, sold around 27,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 12 on the Billboard 200 chart.
SEVENDUST‘s last album, “Chapter VII: Hope and Sorrow”, opened with 25,000 units back in April 2008 to land at position No. 19.
“Cold Day Memory” was released on April 20 on the band’s own 7Bros. Records, through Warner Music Group‘s Independent Label Group. The CD — produced by Grammy Award winner Johnny K (DISTURBED,STAIND, 3 DOORS DOWN, PLAIN WHITE T’S) — is the group’s first new album with its original lineup back together with guitarist Clint Lowery‘s return after his departure in 2003.
While SEVENDUST‘s last few efforts were mainly heavy and rhythmic, the new songs balance brutality with textural passages and infectious counter-melodies. There are even fleet-fingered guitar solos. But whether confronting the listener with double-bass drums and staccato power chords or using melodic arpeggios and soft brush strokes to sweeten the sound of Witherspoon’s multi-faceted vocals, SEVENDUST sounds excited, energized and ready to take on the world.
All five band members contributed to the lyrics on “Cold Day Memory”, and the songs were works in progress up until the moment they were recorded. In the end, the band crafted songs that encapsulated their experiences with the world and one another. Witherspoon, who recently became a father, penned some lines about commitment and responsibility, while Rose, who was going through a painful divorce, wrote lyrics about heartbreak and disillusionment. The album’s first single, “Unraveling”, was co-written by Lowery and Dave Bassett(SHINEDOWN, PUDDLE OF MUDD) and is about the collapse of a relationship, while “Confession” indirectly addresses Lowery quitting and returning to the band.
A two-minute sample of the DVD portion of “Cold Day Memory” can be viewed below.

Sep. 21 – Chicago, IL – House of Blues
Sep. 23 – New York, NY – Nokia Theater Times Square
Sep. 25 – West Hollywood, CA – House of Blues
Commented Schaffer: “It has been too long since we played North America and after the South American shows we felt we should bring a ‘greatest hits’-set to our loyal fans in the U.S. “I am also very much looking forward to introducing SONS OF LIBERTY to the Minions.”
For the dates listed below, ICED EARTH will be offering a very limited number of fans the opportunity to attend the show as the band’s guest VIPs.
Fans who purchase a VIP package with IcedEarth.com will receive the following:
* A general-admission ticket
* VIP meet-and-greet with ICED EARTH
* Autographed tour poster
* ICED EARTH flag
* Limited-edition ICED EARTH t-shirt

The VIP packages are very limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis.

ICED EARTH‘s “Box Of The Wicked” will be released in Europe on April 26 (three days earlier in Germany) and May 18 in the U.S. viaSPV/Steamhammer Records. The set is limited to 10,000 copies worldwide.
While ICED EARTH‘s 1998 album “Something Wicked This Way Comes” provided a general overview of the story guitarist/songwriterJon Schaffer has been conceptualizing for well over a decade, the saga was fully brought to life with the release of the back-to-back conceptual albums “Framing Armageddon” and “The Crucible of Man”. The albums provided answers to mysteries the previous releases created, and the timeliness of the story in today’s world were guaranteed to keep people thinking and guessing. Schaffer‘s ability to convey the central themes and events of the story without always revealing exactly “why” characters’ decisions are made and “how” events come to pass will keep fans of the saga coming back as future mediums for the “Something Wicked” storyline are revealed.
The whole saga is now included in this high-quality hardcover boxset (height 13 cm, depth 4.5 cm, width 14.5 cm) featuring the original digipak CDs “Framing Armageddon” and “The Crucible Of Man” as well as the original digipaks EPs “Overture Of The Wicked” and “I Walk Among You”. In addition, the boxset includes a bonus cardboard CD with one song from “Framing Armageddon” now sung by Matt Barlow and three previously unreleased live tracks from the Belgian Graspop Metal Meeting festival in 2008, also featuring Barlow on vocals. The boxset will come with a full-color A1 poster and a 12-page booklet with previously unseen photos and liner notes.

Belgian black metallers ENTHRONED have issued the following update:
“Finally after nine years, ENTHRONED will come back to the United States this summer! Dates will come soon and we will reveal the support acts in the meantime. Also, ENTHRONED will team up with Norway’sGORGOROTH for the South American portion of their world tour this September. The tour will be around Brazil. Soon dates will be posted.”
ENTHRONED will embark on a European tour with SHINING between October 20 and November 7. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
ENTHRONED released its eighth album, “Pentagrammaton”, on March 22 via Regain Records.
Commented the band: “We are very satisfied of how ‘Pentagrammaton’turned out; the final result of the album is exactly what we wanted to achieve: an album which can be best situated between our last offering‘Tetra Karcist’ and ENTHRONED cult album ‘Towards The Skullthrone Of Satan’, yet adding some new elements as usual.
“The whole concept of ‘Pentagrammaton’ deals with direct approach: the sound is warmer than ‘Tetra Karcist’, natural drums, heavy guitars for a lyrical concept based on lived experiences and facts, somehow something very personal, let’s say!”
ENTHRONED recently parted ways with Nguaroth (guitar) andAhephaim (drums) and replaced them with Neraath and Garghuf(ex-GORGOROTH), respectively.

Once that run is over, the guys are taking what will be one of the longest flights ever to the United Kingdom for a European tour with 36 CRAZYFISTS.
Commented UNEARTH vocalist Trevor Phipps: “What better way to spend our May and June than touring Japan, Australia and New Zealand with our buds in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and also hitting up much of Europe and the summer festivals with our boys in 36 CRAZYFISTS?
“I don’t really see a point in trying to answer that question because there isn’t a better answer.
“If you live in any of the places I mentioned, come on out, bang your heads, hit the pit, drink some beer and do some stupid shit.
“This is our last go around the world until 2011, so let’s make this a rager for the ages.”
