AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH INVOLVED IN WILD PARKING LOT BRAWL LAST WEEKEND
Detroit deathcore artists, AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH were involved in a wild brawl last weekend outside of a venue in Spokane, WA. AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH guitarist, Kyle McIlmurray recalls the scene:
“There was some drunk guy pushing kids around. The guy was clearly belligerent and getting really dangerous so one of the bands went to inform the club owner of what was going on with this dude. Instead of immediate action against the drunk guy, the band gets an earful about how unprofessional they’re being and find out that the guy is a friend of the owner. Of course our pals in the band aren’t going to sit down and take this so during one of their song breaks, the singer went on a long rant about the owner and his own unprofessionalism. Finally, after the band finished, the owner came up on stage and announced that if anyone wants to buy the band’s mercy, they had better do it right then, because they were being kicked out of the club in 15 minutes. In fact there was a crew of gutter punks that the owner called whom were stirring up shit outside while waiting to go and kick out the band.
So while these crustys are causing a ruckus outside, one of the guys in the last band gave me a call and said “hey, we’ve got spray paint all over the side of our trailer.” It sucks for them because their van is white and that’s going to take a lot of work to get out. Of course these idiots had to tag it up with the name of their crew, so it made them pretty easy to ID once we found one of them tagging a wall with the same thing around the corner.
Once we find the guy, we make him lead us to his equally dirty crewmates who start talking shit to our faces. At this point, we were joined by some of our friends in the other bands who were really getting tired of these assholes running their mouths. When they finally took it a step too far and started to threaten and spit at us, that’s when our singer Ryan stepped in. He walked right up to the lead guy and punched him in the face. From there, it was on! It looked like some sort of wrestling brawl only it was real and we had the upper hand. These gutter punks decided to runtier mouths at the wrong group of pissed off metal dudes. None of us on the tour are really violent bands, but if you’re going to keep spitting in our face and talking shit, you have to be dealt with somehow and that’s exactly what we did.
In the end, we put a beatdown on the crustys and taught them not to screw with us. None of us suffered much major damage except for Ryan, who busted up one of his knuckles on that one guy’s face. We also made sure to tell our manager, our booking agent and the show’s promoter (who was real cool about everything and had nothing to do with what happened that night) that we will never play that venue again.”

FEAR FACTORY: New Video Interview With BURTON C. BELL Posted Online
Russell “Evil G.” Johnson of BareBonesMusic.com recently conducted an interview with vocalist Burton C. Bell of Los Angeles cyber metallersFEAR FACTORY. You can now watch the chat below.
FEAR FACTORY has scheduled two more in-store appearances/meet-and-greet sessions as part of its ongoing “Fear Campaign” American tour 2010. All four members of the band will be available to meet with fans at Digital Ferret Records in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 6; and Vintage Vinyl in Fords, New Jersey on June 10.
FEAR FACTORY, currently on tour supporting its latest album,“Mechanize”, had a brief scare last month when its tour bus nearly went off road while en route to Boise, Idaho. Luckily no one was injured and the band made its show at Knitting Factory without much delay. GuitaristDino Cazares says, “We were on our way to Boise for a day off when about 8:45 a.m. our bus driver fell asleep at the wheel. He swerved to the opposite side of the road. Most of us woke up when we felt the bus on the rumble strips and then the dirt. He woke up in time to swerve back onto our side of the road and pull over.” He added, “Thank god there was no oncoming cars or 18-wheelers on the road.”
FEAR FACTORY‘s latest radio single, “Final Exit”, made impact at hard rock/metal stations nationwide. The song is expected to follow the success of earlier singles “Powershifter” and “Fear Campaign”.
Lyrically, “Final Exit” draws attention to the much criticized and sensitive issue of self-deliverance as introduced in the 1992 book by Derek Humphry, founder of the Hemlock Society and past president of the World Federation of Right to Die Societies. Bell explains, “Dino and I have created the edits to condense the song into a time specific for radio. We are very happy fans are loving the song for it is one that touches upon the importance of the freedom of choice and personal liberty that all human beings should be allowed. The song hopefully will create awareness for the support group Final Exit Network,” the song’s namesake. Passionately Bell continues, “The right to life extends beyond life itself. If the medical community cannot, and will not find a cure due to cost effectiveness, then humanity needs the choice of a dignified, self-deliverance from continual, painful treatments from debilitating disease. We have been contacted by many fans who connect with this song on many levels, and with ‘Final Exit’ being played on the radio, we hope others will also become aware, understand, and enjoy this song.”
FEAR FACTORY kicked off the second leg of its American “Fear Campaign” tour on May 14 at The Rialto Theater in Tucson, Arizona. The trek, also featuring PRONG, THY WILL BE DONE and SILENT CIVILIAN, will visit twenty cities before it concludes at The Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia.
FEAR FACTORY‘s new album, “Mechanize”, was released in the U.S. on February 9, 2010 via Candlelight Records. The CD, which was co-produced by the band with Rhys Fulber (FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY,PARADISE LOST), was mixed by Greg Reely (PARADISE LOST, FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY, SKINNY PUPPY).

DEICIDE Drummer Interviewed In Zagreb
Drummer Steve Asheim of Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE was interviewed by the “Metal Eye” show on Z1 TV when the band performed in Zagreb, Croatia on May 25, 2010 at club Boogaloo. Watch the chat below.
DEICIDE in 2008 inked a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records. The band has been working on its new album at Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Mark Lewis (THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, CHIMAIRA).
In a 2009 interview with Express Night Out, DEICIDE bassist/vocalistGlen Benton stated about the status of the band’s next CD, “[Drummer and composer] Steve [Asheim] had all that [music] done within about six or seven months of the last record being turned in to Earache. He writes stuff quickly. It’s a little bit different from what we’ve done. It’s a little less melodic, a little more blast-beat, chaotic-sounding stuff. … Until I sit down and start writing, to me it’s just a bunch of noise until I start separating it with vocal lines and stuff. I have to listen to the stuff over and over and over to figure out how to put the vocal parts on it. … When I write, I can’t go anywhere or do anything. I just sit there in front of my laptop with my headphones on and just write.”
DEICIDE‘s most recent album, “Till Death Do Us Part”, sold 2,900 copies in the United States in its first week of release.

AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH SHOW SHUT DOWN BY POLICE
On last weekend’s Whittier, CA date of the 28 Days Latour, Detroit deathcore act AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH were sadly unable to unleash their brand of Murder City mayhem as they normally do because the show was shut down by the police before the band had even played a note. “A local band started playing and at some point during their set, the cops came in shut the show down;” said AND HELL FOLLOWED WITH guitarist, Kyle McIlmurray. “We think it had to do something about the venue not having an entertainment permit, but we like to joke that it was because the show was too heavy for the place to handle.”
Saturday’s show, originally slated to be held in a different venue at a nearby location was moved due to the original venue’s sudden closing. Despite the circumstances, Kyle and the rest of his band seemed to take it all as a very pleasant experience. “It was good to be hanging around such professionals. The promoter was cool about it all and took care of us and once everything was handled, we were just stoked to be able to hang around Hollywood with the other bands. They’re all good guys so it was a fun night out. We all just went and made the best of it with them.”

HEAVEN SHALL BURN: Entire New Album Available For Streaming
“Invictus”, the new album from German death metal and hardcore fusionists HEAVEN SHALL BURN, is available for streaming in its entirety on the band’s MySpace page. The CD will be released viaCentury Media Records on the following dates:
Germany, Austria, Switzerland: Friday, May 21
Spain, Italy : Tuesday, May 25
Sweden, Finland, Hungary: Wednesday, May 26
Rest Of Europe: Monday, May 24
North America: Tuesday, June 8
“Invictus” was recorded at Tue Madsen‘s Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark with the band’s the two guitarists, Maik Weichert andAlexander Dietz, handling production duties.
As on HEAVEN SHALL BURN‘s previous albums, Icelandic composerÓlafur Arnalds was responsible for creating the aforementioned atmospheric intro as well as the album’s outro. However, the highly emotional duet “Given In Death”, which features guest appearances bySabine Weniger from DEADLOCK on vocals and Sebastian Reichl on guitar, will certainly come as a slight surprise.
Maik on “Given In Death”: “The topic this song is about is a very sensitive one (mercy killing) and Sabine‘s voice just goes along so well with the feeling we tried to create for this piece. It was a pleasure working together with such a talented band as DEADLOCK.”
According to a press release, “Invictus” “is the third part of the‘Iconoclast’ story after ‘Iconoclast’ and [HEAVEN SHALL BURN's] DVD‘Bildersturm’. Again stories about unconventional heroes are being told, a different light is cast upon well known idols and legends.”
“Invictus” track listing:
01. Intro
02. The Omen
03. Combat
04. I Was I Am I Shall Be
05. Buried In Forgotten Grounds
06. Sevastopol
07. The Lie You Bleed For
08. Return To Sanity
09. Against Bridge Burners
10. Of Forsaken Poets
11. Given In Death
12. Outro

“Bildersturm – Iconoclast II (The Visual Resistance)” was released on May 25, 2009 in Europe via Century Media Records. In addition to “incredible” live material, the DVD includes a comprehensive documentary and loads of other content.
