All of our shows also have air conditioning.”
He added, “It’s a much younger lineup this year rather than a lot of older bands in the headlining positions. Tickets will be much cheaper for this same reason, coming in at under $20 in advance almost everywhere with the exception of L.A. and NYC. Most will be $18.”

American Carnage Tour Details
SLAYER’S SEASONS IN THE ABYSS AND MEGADETH’S RUST IN PEACE TO BE CORNERSTONES OF “AMERICAN CARNAGE” LIVE SETS
“I’m feeling great and anxious to get back on the road.”
– Slayer’s post-op Tom Araya
“If you missed us playing with our friends Slayer back in the 90s, well, here’s your chance to make it up to yourself. If you miss it this time, well then you ain’t metal anyway!”
– Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine
“We’ve been sitting home for six months…I can’t remember the last time
I wanted to tour so bad.”
– Slayer’s Kerry King
LOS ANGELES, CA – Monday, April 26, 2010 — Megadeth and Slayer, who last toured the U.S. together nineteen years ago on the “Clash of the Titans” extravaganza, have confirmed that they will each perform, start to finish, their 1990 releases – Slayer’s world-wide, million-selling Seasons In The Abyss and Megadeth’s Platinum Rust In Peace – on the upcoming Canadian and American Carnage Tours. The six-date Canadian Carnage kicks off July 23 in Quebec City, while the 19-city American Carnage dates begin August 11 in Glens Falls, NY (complete itinerary is below). With Slayer and Megadeth co-headlining, Testament will be Special Guest on all dates.
Tickets purchased for the Canadian and American Carnage shows when they first went on sale late last year will be honored for these rescheduled dates. Complete information regarding ticket sales can be found at www.slayer.net . www.megadeth.com . www.testamentlegiions.com
1990 was one stellar year for fans of intense heavy metal, as both Rust in Peace and Seasons in the Abyss and are considered to be among the genre’s all-time classics. “War Ensemble,” “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due,” “Dead Skin Mask,” “Hangar 18,” “Seasons in the Abyss” – the preeminent list of metal standards that these two albums spawned has rarely been matched by others. Click HERE to see the original music video (shot in Egypt) for Slayer’s “Seasons in the Abyss,” and HERE for “Holy Wars,” Megadeth’s first music video from Rust In Peace.
Slayer – guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo – scored a major breakthrough upon the original release of Seasons in the Abyss (Slayer’s fifth studio album overall), as it was the group’s first album to hit the US Top 40, and saw Slayer playing to the biggest crowds of their career with 91′s Clash of the Titans tour.
Megadeth’s fourth album, Rust In Peace saw the band cement their status as one of the most important metal bands with masterpieces like “Hanger 18″ and “Holy Wars…The Punishment Due,” as well as a top 25 debut on the Billboard charts. The album has been hailed as one of the greatest heavy metal albums of all time with IGN recently naming it one of the most influential metal albums ever. Megadeth is now rejoined by original bassist Dave Ellefson and are firing on all cylinders.
The American Carnage Tour, originally scheduled to take place in January and February, had to be postponed due to Slayer’s vocalist/bassist, Tom Araya’s treatment for severe back pain, an occupational hazard for the rocker who is known for aggressively swinging his long mane of hair while performing. A surgical procedure in January corrected the problem once and for all, and he felt better almost immediately.
“Right after the surgery, ” said Araya, “I could tell that the issue was fixed. There’s no more pain, it just feels really good. I’m really excited and I’m anxious to get together with the rest of the guys and start rehearsing again. We cancelled two tours, and I don’t feel great about that, but I couldn’t deal with the pain anymore, and that’s now completely gone. I know the fans are excited to see the band – the tour is on, we’re keeping our word, there will be no more cancellations.”

SLAYER
Slayer. The Chicago Tribune’s Greg Kot wrote that Slayer is “one of the great American rock bands of the last 30 years, forget about genre.” Indeed, few bands come close to matching the intensity that Slayer – guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman, vocalist/bassist Tom Araya, and drummer Dave Lombardo – bring to its live shows, having been named “Best Live Band” by numerous media outlets including Revolver, SPIN, and Metal Hammer. 2009′s World Painted Blood (American Recordings) offers a Slayer-ized point of view of our world – God’s terrifying global genocide, the chaos of our broken political system, the way-too-close proximity of world horrors that technology has brought us, and a chilling hypothesis of how the rest of the world might view America. The album was recorded in Los Angeles over two time periods, during October 2008 and then between late January and March 2009. World Painted Blood was produced by Greg Fidelman who has spent time in the studio with Metallica, the Gossip, the (International) Noise Conspiracy, Slipknot and others, and executive produced by long-time Slayer colleague Rick Rubin, who suggested Fidelman for the project. One reviewer called the album “the heaviest, bloodiest and best album in almost two decades.” World Painted Blood landed on boatloads of U.S. and International “Best of” lists for 2009, and N.A.R.A.S. saw fit to bestow its fourth Grammy nomination on Slayer – Best Metal Performance for the WPB track, “Hate Worldwide.” For “American Carnage,” Slayer’s Tom Araya promises, “no ballads, no acoustic numbers, no slow tempos.”
MEGADETH
Megadeth. 2009 saw the release of ENDGAME, which has been heralded as Megadeth’s best album in years. It’s the record where it all comes full circle in a career that has not only set standards in hard rock and metal, but defined them. Megadeth’s signature shredding and rousing lyrics are the hallmarks of ENDGAME, with vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine once again musing and making declarations about the world we live in, having named the album after a government document that should strike fear in the hearts of Americans! But that’s Mustaine and Megadeth, using the vehicle of music to shake things up, to make a point and to rattle your brain, literally, figuratively and sonically. Revolver magazine said of ENDGAME, “One of their best albums.” VH1′s ‘That Metal Show’ deemed it “One of the metal albums of the year,” and Popmatters said, “the record positively scorches with an intensity not heard since Rust in Peace.” The band was also awarded the eighth Grammy nomination of its career for “Head Crusher,” which serves as more proof that ENDGAME is quickly earning “essential” status in the Megadeth catalog. Megadeth has teamed with ILoveAllAccess.com to offer Ultimate Fan Packages. For more info, go to www.megadeth.com
TESTAMENT
Legendary thrash metal titans Testament, whose latest award-winning release (2008 Album of the Year, Metal Hammer’s Golden God Award) The Formation of Damnation, displays them as the quintessential modern heavy metal band, whose experience and accumulated skill allows them to attack with reserves of anger, energy and finesse that make them more powerful than ever. Lead singer Chuck Billy says, “My first memories of playing with Slayer were in New York, they were our first shows even before we had a record out. We got spit on for the first three songs and then the fans turned it around and started headbanging and fist pumping. It was great and the shows were the heaviest and fondest memories of Testament touring with Slayer.”
Added Alex Skolnick, “It’s hard to believe that we actually toured together twenty years ago. With everyone just a little bit older and wiser, I believe this time around will be even more fun. It’s great that these three bands, Slayer, Megadeth and Testament, are not only still going strong, but sounding better than ever. I’m really looking forward to American Carnage as I’m sure all the fans are.”

ENTHRONED To Tour U.S. This Summer
Belgian black metallers ENTHRONED have issued the following update:
“Finally after nine years, ENTHRONED will come back to the United States this summer! Dates will come soon and we will reveal the support acts in the meantime. Also, ENTHRONED will team up with Norway’sGORGOROTH for the South American portion of their world tour this September. The tour will be around Brazil. Soon dates will be posted.”
ENTHRONED will embark on a European tour with SHINING between October 20 and November 7. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
ENTHRONED released its eighth album, “Pentagrammaton”, on March 22 via Regain Records.
Commented the band: “We are very satisfied of how ‘Pentagrammaton’turned out; the final result of the album is exactly what we wanted to achieve: an album which can be best situated between our last offering‘Tetra Karcist’ and ENTHRONED cult album ‘Towards The Skullthrone Of Satan’, yet adding some new elements as usual.
“The whole concept of ‘Pentagrammaton’ deals with direct approach: the sound is warmer than ‘Tetra Karcist’, natural drums, heavy guitars for a lyrical concept based on lived experiences and facts, somehow something very personal, let’s say!”
ENTHRONED recently parted ways with Nguaroth (guitar) andAhephaim (drums) and replaced them with Neraath and Garghuf(ex-GORGOROTH), respectively.

UNEARTH Preparing To Tour Japan With THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER
After wrapping up their headlining run with the hugely successful Atticus Metal Tour II, Massachusetts metallers UNEARTH are taking their show overseas. First, they’ll conquer Japan, Australia and New Zealand withMetal Blade labelmates THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER. Once that run is over, the guys are taking what will be one of the longest flights ever to the United Kingdom for a European tour with 36 CRAZYFISTS.
Commented UNEARTH vocalist Trevor Phipps: “What better way to spend our May and June than touring Japan, Australia and New Zealand with our buds in THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and also hitting up much of Europe and the summer festivals with our boys in 36 CRAZYFISTS?
“I don’t really see a point in trying to answer that question because there isn’t a better answer.
“If you live in any of the places I mentioned, come on out, bang your heads, hit the pit, drink some beer and do some stupid shit.
“This is our last go around the world until 2011, so let’s make this a rager for the ages.”

Bell were in MINISTRY together as part of its final incarnation and both factored prominently in its last series of concerts, the “C U La Tour”, and Tony has been in a band with FEAR FACTORYguitarist Dino Cazares called ASESINO since 2002, so the chemical concoction of the live shows is sure to be a powerful and caustic experience.
For the summer, Tommy will be reprising his role as the lead guitarist for DANZIG, playing a pair of festival dates in Sweden this June . Then, upon his return to the U.S., he plans to go into the studio with Tony andAlexei to work on a new album, the tenth in his catalog and the first since his 2007 release, “The Power of the Damager”.

A track from the CD, “The Walk”, is now available for streaming on the band’s MySpace page.
“‘The Walk’ is a very special song for us,” says guitarist Misha Mansoor. “Apart from being one of the oldest ones, it is also one of the heaviest ones we have to offer, and we love playing it live and wanted to share the album version with all the fans so they could enjoy it as well!”
Last month, the guys traveled to Boston to film a new video withKillswitch Productions and directors Mike Pecci and Ian McFarland(FEAR FACTORY, MESHUGGAH), before setting out on the road withKITTIE and GOD FORBID.
“Wait until you see this video,” says Pecci. “Loaded with epic shots, heroic stances, and awesome band performances, I will say that it isIan‘s and my most abstract piece to date! Working with the guys fromPERIPHERY was a blast!”
States guitarist Alex Bois: “It was an honor to work with Ian, Mike and crew! As this was our first video, we didn’t realize how exciting the filming process could be. Now, we fully understand where all the hype surrounding these guys comes from and we WILL be working with them on future projects!”
Founded in 2004 by guitarist Misha Mansoor, PERIPHERY seems to always be drawing from a constant stream of inspiration. To date, the band has recorded over 100 songs and continues to deliver new tracks on a regular basis, each time pushing the envelope on its compositional structures.
Taking the DIY approach to getting their music heard, PERIPHERYgarnered the attention of metal fans across the globe by deciding to make all of its songs available to listeners online. Inspired by its fans’ feedback and fervent requests, the band frequently adds new music and video blogs, constantly cultivating a stronger online presence.
This continuous exposure on the web, combined with a strong hometown following, provided PERIPHERY the opportunity to showcase its explosive live show and music on national tours such as Summer Slaughter, the Thrash and Burn Tour and select dates with BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME, DARKEST HOUR, LAMB OF GOD and DESPISED ICON.

Hail The Villain: Release Interactive Website; Announce Tour Dates
Hail The Villain have emerged out of Oshawa, Ontario to unleash the band’s master plan on an unsuspecting population with the launch of one of the most creative and technologically advanced websites ever built for a band: www.hailthevillain.com.
The band isn’t satisfied with just writing songs, making an album and going out on tour. They want to create an entire Hail The Villain universe that includes not only the music, but a dynamic live show, animated videos, a comic book and their unique website.
Designed and built by RUNE Entertainment and GRAND Creative Studios, the website opens with the story of family man and steel factory worker Drake Carter ending his affair with seductive co-worker Thea Landa. This sparks a chain of events that leads to Drake’s murder at the hands of his former lover and secret Villain as she moves to claim his soul.
Freezing time in that brutal and savage moment, the website allows users to navigate through the scene to unlock character back-stories, clues and downloads, to participate in the story by becoming “Villain-ized” and to share messages with the band.
“This is one of the most interactive websites that we’ve ever seen,” enthuses Hail The Villain singer Bryan Crouch. “It truly brings our fans into our Universe and allows us to have direct communication with them through our video channels, and the Book of Souls. It’s a site where you can lose yourself for hours in the story that we created. I wish more bands were doing things like this.”
The concept for the website grew out of a series of sketches the band had created as a rough draft for a comic book inspired by the sounds of their new album, Population: Declining which will be released via Roadrunner Records on June 8, 2010. Armed with the band’s ideas, RUNE and GRAND set out to design a website with a difference, building a range of engaging features to plug into and enhance a story crafted to showcase the band’s music.
“When we met the group they told us that they were looking for an atypical band website and essentially gave us carte blanche to go off and create something unique,” explains GRAND co-partner Luke Canning. Taking that brief as their starting point, the challenge for us was to build a site that would set Hail the Villain apart from the cacophony of acts populating the pages of MySpace and Facebook.
Taking the point-and-click concept to a whole new level, HailTheVillain.com presents a series of artfully illustrated environments to explore, with clues and hints, character bios and Easter eggs hidden at every turn. Numbers scrawled in matchbooks unlock audio content when punched into a phone booth, while a map hidden in the glove compartment foreshadows a darker plot twist that will be revealed in one of the upcoming comics.
To drive audience participation, users are invited to activate their webcam at the start of the experience. As they journey through the site, visitors will uncover various opportunities to upload and modify pictures of themselves, record and share videos with the band and other fans, and stumble across several other surprises.
Hail The Villain’s debut album, Population: Declining was produced by Darryl Romphf and will be released on June 8 through Roadrunner Records. The album’s release is preceded by the first single, “Take Back The Fear,” and its accompanying animated video, produced by RUNE Entertainment. “Take Back The Fear” was recently shipped to Rock and Modern Rock radio and has already seen early adds from KQRC/Kansas City and 89X/Detroit.
Prior to the album’s release, Hail The Villain hits the road in the U.S. for a month of dates opening for Sevendust:

CATTLE DECAPITATION Frontman Explains Why Band Can’t Tour Canada
San Diego extreme metallers CATTLE DECAPITATION have been forced to cancel their participation in the Canadian leg of the JOB FOR A COWBOY/WHITECHAPEL tour
Commented CATTLE DECAPITATION vocalist Travis Ryan: “Here’s the deal, guys.
“I made a big mistake in June of 2001. I went out driving after a few drinks and the cops pulled me over. I blew just UNDER THE LEGAL LIMIT on the roadway (.06 — very much under the legal limit), but since I was swerving while looking in the rearview at the cop racing up behind me, they took me in and I got charged with a DUI. I fought it in court and got it reduced to a reckless driving conviction.
“Just to clarify, this all happened in San Marcos, California, not Canada.
“NOW, the Canadian border only cares about what I was charged with — a DUI, which they take very seriously and have threatened me with possible jail time if I try to come back up to Canada without getting it pardoned at the Canadian/U.S. consulate.
“I paid $250 out of my own pocket for a ‘temporary residents permit’ each of the three times we’ve been there since 2007. They said if I do not get a ‘pardon’ or successfully complete an ‘application for rehabilitation’ before the next time I try to cross into Canada, I will be going to jail. They keep this info in their systems for 10 years.
“In July 2011, this will all be behind me and I will not have to worry about crossing into Canada anymore.
“Blackenedfest was completely out of our control. That whole tour imploded; luckily, most everyone knows that. I had all the appropriate paperwork on me that I got from the courts to show them that I had completed all programs, fines and classes that the court made me attend in hopes that they would take that and let me in for the Blackenedfestshows. I’m glad now that we didn’t make it that far because I hear that this would have been inadmissable evidence and would have been denied entry or detained, possibly JAILED.
“As you can see, it’s really out of my control at this point.
“I’m going to go start the process but it takes over six months to complete.
“I have hesitated on getting it taken care of sooner because it involves everything from getting a history report from the FBI to having to pay a ton of money to a HUGE list of stuff that I don’t even know if I can complete and you won’t know if it went through until AFTER you’ve paid a ton of money and submitted a ridiculously long checklist that is mandatory to complete in its entirety.
“A lot of bands go through this and get a lot of shit from the fans over there.
“You guys need to realize the Canadian border is very strict and keep a lot of good people from coming over there to say hi and play for you all, but at the same time, I completely understand rules are rules. At the same time, it sucks because this happened nine years ago. I have not driven drunk, been convicted or committed one crime since. It seems like complete bullshit and it sickens me because Canada, especially Toronto and Montreal, have been some of our best shows. Ever.
“Please spread this word and know that we will be back as soon as possible. We ARE NOT flakes — which is obvious as we have 20+ U.S. tours under our belt.
“We hope you guys will wait for us! We’ll be back as soon as we can to decapitate you all!!!
“That said, we’d like to announce a couple U.S. shows that will be taking the place of the shows we’re supposed to be playing in Canada on this upcoming tour.”
Apr. 30 – Chicago, IL @ Reggie’s Rock Club (Early Matinee Show! 5:00 p.m.)
May 01 – Cleveland, OH @ Peabody’s
As previously reported, Las Vegas, Nevada music store Zia will host an in-store signing session with CATTLE DECAPITATION on Saturday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. in celebration of “Record Store Day.” Fans will be able to pick up CATTLE‘s latest release, “The Harvest Floor”, for the low price of $9.99 and get it signed by the band or they can bring their own swag to get signed.

“Record Store Day” celebrates the continued existence of independent record stores, mostly through live in-store appearances, performances and special limited-edition releases that will only be sold through participating stores on the day itself, which is April 17 this year.
CATTLE DECAPITATION last year parted ways with bassist Troy Oftedaldue to “musical and personal differences.” The band stated at the time, “There is no bad blood and we wish him the best of luck.”
CATTLE DECAPITATION‘s video for the song “A Body Farm” was directed by the band’s friend, DOWNSPELL vocalist Tyson Metruccio(who previously helmed BRUTAL TRUTH‘s “Sugardaddy” clip).
Metal Blade Records released a limited-edition, picture-disc vinyl version of the new CATTLE DECAPITATION album, “The Harvest Floor”, on April 14, 2009.
“The Harvest Floor” sold around 1,700 copies in the United States in its first week of release. The CD debuted at No. 16 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
