DAATH: 'Day Of Endless Light' Video Available - July 9, 2009
New DAATH Video for 'Day Of Endless Light' is now available on blabbermouth.net at the following URL: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=123335

Commented guitarist Eyal Levi: "I hate music videos. Always have. There's been a few exceptions over the years like the old TOOL videos orWHITE STRIPES videos but for the most part they suck. Especially metal videos. How many times can we watch a group of burly dudes throwing down in a warehouse or abandoned building? With this video, that was the LAST thing I wanted for us.

"I set out to find a team that would give us an actual work of art which could be watched and enjoyed regardless of the music. We ended up withRobin Fuller directing. We chose him because of his amazing animation skills and overall enthusiasm for the vision.

"The vision was to have a video shot in the style of a Frank Miller film ('Sin City') and have those shots interwoven with the art and design thatJorden Haley has created for us with [the new DAATH album] 'The Concealers'

"This [is] not your typical metal video."

DIRTFEDD SET TO RELEASE THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE ON JUNE 2ND, 2009

DIRTFEDD SET TO RELEASE THE AMERICAN NIGHTMARE

ON JUNE 2ND, 2009

ALBUM PRODUCED BY M. SHAWN CRAHAN (CLOWN)

FROM SLIPKNOT

DIRTFEDD CURRENTLY ON TOUR WITH SLIPKNOT, KORN, AND DEVILDRIVER

(May 12, 2009) – New YorkNY – E1 Music is set to release heavy metal band Dirtfedd’s debut album, The American Nightmare, on June 2nd, 2009.

The album was produced by M. Shawn Crahan (Clown) from Slipknot.  Crahan discovered the LincolnNebraska band and describes the music as “right here right now.” He goes on to express his excitement at working with the new band, “They are from the Midwest, which gives them a big advantage in how to shape their own vision, rather than get caught up in clichéd scenes…I personally cannot wait until we give this art to the world.  It's time things change.”

The album includes the tracks “Body Bag,” “No One Gets Left Behind,” and the live show favorite and radio single “Salute.”  Metal bibleRevolver Magazine says “...the group alternates between galloping metalcore and groovy shake-your-fanny rawk, but what really sets the band apart is their tasteful use of melody.”

Dirtfedd just began s a U.S. tour with metal juggernauts Slipknot, Korn and Dirtfedd in Oklahoma CityOK on May 8th and will tour throughout the summer.

Killswitch Engage Announce Album Title and Release Date

New York, NY: Massachusetts' finest hard rock purveyors, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, have announced the title for their eagerly anticipated fourth album for Roadrunner Records. The title is Killswitch Engage. The album, produced by Brendan O'Brien (AC/DC, Rage Against the Machine) and co-produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz, will hit stores on June 30.

Some of the working track titles for the album include "Reckoning," "The Forgotten," "Light in a Darkened World" and "Starting Over." Vocalist Howard Jones offered a little insight into Killswitch Engage, saying, “It was time for us to step outside of our comfort zone and try something a little different with this record.  It definitely still sounds like us, but we needed to be refreshed and take things a little further." The singer also comments on the album being the band's second self-titled effort of its career, saying, "When we all couldn’t agree on an album title, someone suggested we just keep it self-titled and we all pretty much agreed…gives it the feeling of a fresh new beginning."

Killswitch Engage have been playing the tentatively titled "Light in a Darkened World" during their set on the Music As A Weapon Tour, where they are serving as main support to Disturbed. The band also performed the song as the opening act of the first annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards, which were held on Tuesday, April 7 in Los Angeles. The song, sandwiched between "My Curse" and the band's uniquely Killswitch'ed cover of Dio's classic anthem "Holy Diver," generated plenty of excitement among the crowd and set the tone for the show. The awards and KsE's performance will be broadcast on MTV2 on May 2.

The band will spend the summer touring as a main stage attraction on the second annual Rockstar Energy Mayhem Fest.  Jones also commented on the upcoming tour, saying, "We are excited and thrilled to share the stage this summer with Bullet For My Valentine, Slayer and Marilyn Manson. We hope to entertain and enjoy our time interacting with both old friends and new friends daily. Prepare yourself for laughs, riffs and the unexpected. We will do all we can to make you move, yell and ponder who made the mistake of letting us onstage. You have been warned. Oh, and watch new episodes of The Office."

Killswitch Engage album cover art is now viewable exclusively at the band's artist page on www.roadrunnerrecords.com. Check it out athttp://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/newreleases/release.aspx?releaseID=315.

MUNICIPAL WASTE REPORT FROM U.S. TOUR WITH LAMB OF GOD
Straight out of the studio where Virginian thrashers MUNICIPAL WASTE have just finished recording their fourth, "most dynamic and rounded record yet" with producer ZEUSS (MADBALL, HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, UNEARTH) – the WASTE hit the road for a six week US tour with LAMB OF GOD, AS I LAY DYING, CHILDREN OF BODOM and GOD FORBID.

MUNICIPAL WASTE completed work on their new album, MASSIVE AGGRESSIVE, in Virginia last week, and now TONY FORESTA (vocals) grabs a breath to catch up with what its been like:

"The past week has been a real whirlwind for the Waste.  Last Tuesday we finished mixing our new album up in Massachusetts then jumped on a plane to Arizona the following morning to start our 6 week tour with Lamb of God."

Never a band to think twice about getting back on the road and breaking faces, FORESTA continues:

"The shows have been a lot of fun and the crowd have been really receptive towards us even though most of them have no idea who we are!  The crowds have been massive.  We have also been playing some new songs and the response to those has been really good.  It's also great to be playing with our good friends Suicidal Tendencies again.  They have been killing it every night on stage and have been a lot of fun to hang with after the gigs as well."

Read a report from The Arizona Review and see photos from the tour: http://www.thearizonareview.com/lamb-of-god-no-fear-energy-tour-photos?nggpage=3

OCEANO - DEPTHS ARRIVES TOMORROW IN NORTH AMERICA
Since mid-2008 OCEANO has run the gamut from ire to misfortune, to excitement and back again. MTV Headbangers Ball premiered the video for razor sharp single, "District of Misery" over the weekend. Watch the video at http://headbangersblog.mtv.com/2009/04/03/video-premiere-oceano-enter-district-of-misery/, then spread it to your friends by using the site's embedded player.

Shot last month in Los Angeles, CA, "District of Misery" was directed by Patrick Guera (DIFFICULT HENRYHARD ECHO) and produced by Brian Thompson atThe Vault LA (MUNICIPAL WASTEKILLSWITCH ENGAGEAS I LAY DYING), the video was shot in a converted LA warehouse and will see OCEANO playing the song alongside a twisted photographic interpretation of each lyrical line as it is growled.

In the April 4th edition of Billboard magazine, OCEANO was featured in the "Happening Now" section devoted to artists on the rise. In the sizable piece,Billboard writer Christa Titus explored the circumstances surrounding OCEANO becoming one of the most hotly buzzed young metal bands today. The feature also includes quotes from OCEANO guitarist, Andrew Mikhail and EARACHE U.S. Label Manager, Al Dawson who go beyond the hype and prove that beneath the angry exterior lies a hard working and extremely talented band who've earned every bit of buzz that has followed them.
OCEANO's "Happening Now" feature can be seen in full here: http://earache.com/archive/oceano/Billboard_Apr409_HappeningNow.jpg

OCEANO's official MySpace page was recently relaunched with a brand

  Arsis guitarist explains tour cancellation
ARSIS guitarist Jim Malone has sent in this update: "I owe more than a few people an apology at this time. Over the past few months ARSIS has had to drop off two tours and the fault lies on my shoulders. Those who know me know that moderation is a concept that I am not familiar with. Ever since my late teens, I have moved from one self-destructive behavior to another and it has finally taken its toll on my body and mind. I seem to take everything I do to an unhealthy extreme. This leads us to the reason for dropping off tours with both The Faceless and Carcass. Without going into too many details, let’s just say that there is no healthy way lose 100 pounds in 4 months, as I did late last year. To say that I have been dealing with some issues would be an understatement. These issues have not only affected the basic functions of my body, but also my mood and ability to make rational decisions. Fortunately, I have many supportive people in my life and I have been taking strides to get things back under control. I have been making my best effort as of late and I feel stronger everyday. I think I will come out this a wiser person and be able to run my life better than ever. Look for ARSIS to be back on the road soon with a possible headliner to make up for lost time. My apologies to our booking agent, our record label, our fans, and anyone who has been effected by my poor decisions."

New Passion Bleeding track downloadable for now!
A new track has been added to the Passion Bleeding MySpace. It is entiled "Passion Fading (feat. Courtney Luff)" and will be included in the Beyond All Remorse Compilation that will be featured with the next issue of that magazine.

It is now downloadable, but only until Tuesday at midnight, so get it while you can!

I think this could be one of my most haunting tracks...but you be the judge.

LAMB OF GOD ON CONAN OBRIEN TONIGHT
LAMB OF GOD will perform live on Late Night with Conan OBrien TONIGHT! (show starts @ 12:35 AM so technically very early Saturday morning).

Drummer Chris Adler had the following comments:
"It's exciting to think that national television has come far enough in our direction to actually let a metal band like us on the air! We are very excited for the opportunity not only for ourselves, but for the doors it will help to break down for heavy metal in general. We are flattered to be in this position, thankful to Conan and his staff for their invitation, and looking forward to proudly kicking some serious ass on National TV!!!"

This will be the band's national television DEBUT, so everyone tune it to make it great!

  Search now with songs...
We have made it a lot easier to find local music on ATLmetal.com. Now, when you search for a band their total number of active songs is listed next to their band name. For example, if one was searching for bands within the "Death Metal" genre, for each band found, that bands total number of active songs in their profile will be displayed next to their band name. This makes things a lot easier when trying to find new local music on ATLmetal.com.
